Leaning English is Sports ( essay )

Japanese are not good at speaking English.
That's true, but not necessarily true for all Japanese.
Some Japanese perfectly speak English. Why?

I believe that leaning English is equivalent to training sports, because they are both reflex action. When you play table tennis, you don't contemplate which course you should hit a ball. If you do, you lose during the time you are considering. The same goes for learning English. You have to immediately reply to others. You have no time to think. As proverb say, "practice makes perfect."

English education in Japan emphasizes only input. This is, so to speak, only reading technical book, though you would like to become a strong player. Just knowing theories is meaningless for athletes. They have to assimilate the theories and to fully utilize them. Most Japanese only know grammar. (This is actually skeptical.) That is to say, most Japanese know techniques but cannot exploit them. That is, they are armchair athletes.

I think if Japanese want to use English, they have to write and speak English a lot. When speaking, they have to listening English in order to know how native speakers speak. When writing, they have to reading English for the sake of knowing how natives write. Therefore, 4 fundamental skills will be earned. Just multiplying hours to study present English curriculum will not be beneficial.

I agree with the title of this eaasy!!

Besides the reason why I think is close to yours.'Practice makes perfect. but the less we use English, the more we should study it for our goal!'
